Members of the RDC board and RDC staff, along with the presidents of six Northern New Mexico colleges, accepting a check from Janet Napolitano, the President of the University of California, for Triad’s investment in a workforce development program managed by the RDC.

On September 12, Janet Napolitano, President of the University of California, and Thom Mason, Director of Los Alamos National Laboratory and President of Laboratory operator Triad National Security LLC, announced an $800,000 grant to the Los Alamos National Laboratory Foundation and the RDC to support nonprofit programs to assist with workforce education & training.

Triad generously granted $200,000 to support RDC’s workforce development programs at six regional colleges and universities in Northern New Mexico, including Luna Community College, Northern New Mexico Community College, New Mexico Highlands University, and the Santa Fe Community College, UNM Los Alamos, and UNM-Taos.

Through the support of professional development workshops, accelerated learning programs, and paid internships, this funding will help build a robust pipeline of educated workers ready to take on high-demand jobs throughout the region.
