RDC Awarded $1,684,578!

DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY

The RDC has been awarded a $1,684,578 Community Capacity Building Grant from the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Environmental Management! We are honored to be one of 12 awardees nationally.

With this funding, the RDC will support the Pueblo de San Ildefonso in its effort to increase and maximize economic and workforce development for the Pueblo.

Our goal is to maintain and strengthen organizational infrastructure with community stakeholders to enhance communication, strengthen support, avoid duplication, and build upon individual strengths to maximize economic and employment benefits for the Pueblo de San Ildefonso and surrounding communities. As well as develop a model that can positively impact and involve tribal and other ethnically diverse communities to address regional economic disparities.

The Community Capacity Building Grant focuses on reinvestment in communities impacted by decades of nuclear defense and research missions and currently hosting environmental cleanup sites by supporting projects that serve community and economic development goals, promote revitalization efforts, and promote inclusive community engagement practices. These awards will strengthen relationships with communities.
